How do you know they didn't do those things?

No one lives in a place where they can see starlink satellites with their naked eye once they are in operational orbit.

You can't see starlink satellites with the naked eye once they are in their operational orbit. I'm sure many people find it useful to be able to attend school: https://www.pcmag.com/news/native-american-tribe-gets-early-...

So what is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgysWWwESfU&t=2s ?

And it's only with 700 satellites around the world right now...

This is shortly after launch while the satellites are still tumbling. Within a few days they align themselves so that their sunshields reduce their brightness and over the next few months they will raise them selves to their operational orbit.

From the article it sounds like those punishments were for something else, and happened before she uploaded this video.

Can I have a link to the podcast? I haven't seen that one and for some reason I can't find it through search.

I'm an idiot. I wrote John Cusack when I wanted to write John Carmack. I don't know how I could even confuse the two names.

Here's the Carmack podcast where he talks about it. Fantastic listen for anyone honestly. Carmack is a fascinating guy.

>Markets don't exist without the nation state because they rely on nation state technology like money

That's not true at all, in many cases markets exist in spite of nation states (think silk road and every other black market).

All of those came about after money, taxes, and state created markets came about. They are part of the whole. If you get rid of the state, the black markets will go away because taxes and money will go away.

That should probably be the story posted to this site, not the editorialized one.

Analysis pieces are no less on-topic and often mat least as appropriate for HN than bare news pieces, and I don't think that, obnoxious headline aside, that is untrue of the content here.

But if you think it's inappropriate you can and should flag it and move on, rather than making ludicrous complaints about it being a sign of a trend of outlets making it hard to find straight news when the same outlet that published the column also carried a straight news piece on the same event.
