As long as you are able to create and set goals for the entity (AI), goals that it must obey and cannot override, then this should never be a problem.
The three laws of robotics would be a good place to start. My greatest fear is it's code landing in the hands of someone with ill intentions. Imagine it, a machine with the combined knowledge of almost everyone who ever lived, capable of working 24/7, full speed, without any breaks. Given enough time it would be able to answer ANY question you could ask it, it could build anything you desired and it could cure every sickness known to man.
But it could also create unimaginably powerful weapons of mass destruction, it could create a pathogen capable of annihilating the entire human race and yes, if asked, it could create a robot army unlike any depicted by sci-fi before.
Our fear should not be that of the AI itself, but rather the man behind the computer screen. For it was neither the maker nor the carrier of LittleBoy that was responsible for the annihilation of Nagasaki, but rather the President whom sent it on it's way.
I just pray that the creator of the first AI, is a kind one. For he shall poses both the greatest weapon known to mankind, And the greatest blessing ever to be bestowed upon us.
I do believe that the point he is trying to make is not that you should say the same thing but with fewer words, but rather that you should say ONLY what you NEED to say. ie. Don't beat around the bush!
No, I'm suggesting samstave is a conspiracy theorist. If Noam Chomsky has articulated the same view (and yes, I see what you did there), then I'd call him a conspiracy theorist too. On politics he's a complete bullshit artist - and I say that because he's a leader in his academic field. He would never accept a paper from a student or another linguist that was as fallacious as the sort of political essays he writes; he clearly understands the concept of academic rigor, but declines to practice it in his political activities. Total hypocrite.
Sorry, but that is nonsense. His political work is always quite academic, baring an incredible amount facts backed up by references. I think public records are the one source he cites most.
Can you point out as single mistruth in his works?
Can you point out where he has not been academic where he should have been?
He might very well produce the most academic political writings ever.
Just because someone sticks in a heap of footnotes doesn't validate their claims. Climate-change denialists do this as a matter of course, but that doesn't make their work academically rigorous. Facts and data points taken out of context can be enormously misleading.
He might very well produce the most academic political writings ever.
LOL no. I read legal opinions and law review articles for fun. I have an intense dislike of Chomsky because I am the sort of person who reads all the footnotes and consults the cited reference works, and doing so on Chomsky's writings has led me in every instance to conclude that he habitually misrepresents his source material by selective quotation and omission of equally important countervailing facts.
When I first encountered Chomsky's writings I was tremendously excited, thinking that this was a guy who Tells It Like It Is. But the more I read and analyzed, the more disappointed I became. Not being American, I wasn't bothered by his challenges to conventional wisdom or the fact that he held a radical viewpoint. What bothered me was his near-constant manipulation of his readers.
Amazing. Chomsky is a legend. Who are you exactly? Ignoring his entire career to simply dismiss him as a conspiracy theorist. Ignorance and apathy like yours is why the US has fallen into the hole it's in now.
I'm not ignoring his entire career. He's one of the towering intellectuals of the 20th Century, and his work in linguistics has positively influenced a range of fields.
But his views on politics and world affairs are extremely eccentric, and have remained on the fringe for a reason.
Yea, for the same reason people who claimed the US was spying on everyone remained on the fringe.... until we had a bunch of evidence of it dropped on us.
There is actually a very nice assignment feature built into the platform. Essentially what it allows a student to do is complete an assignment within the platform and then just hit submit. When submitted, the assignment goes into a queue within the same environment for the teacher to open up, grade and return to the student. All of this happens within one environment with no download or management of files.
Basically imagine if Microsoft word had a submit button for assignments, such that when you submit an assignment the teacher simply opens up word and the assignment would be there; ie there is no download or managing of multiple files.
I used to find sleeping hard. The best solution i have found so far is really simple.
-Stop thinking so much!!!
A few years ago, i asked my brother (who somehow falls asleep within 5 minutes every time) what he dreams about. He responded, saything that he does not dream! I was like, yea right. Who doesn't dream!
Then, the otherday i found this really interesting article on how to fall asleep faster. They went on to say that although there are alot of factors that affect us (light, food, water etc), the biggest reason we are not sleeping easily is because we are just thinking too much!
It's really not hard, just try not to think about anything analytical. Dream of flowers, clouds etc (don't count sheep), just don't dream of anything that makes you think.
I now see why my brother fell asleep so fast, it's because he wasn't thinking. (well, he probably was but not nearly as much as what I was).
Yeah I can't even begin to describe how much I think at night. It's when I make plans, collect my thoughts about what happened throughout the day, think about what I have do to tomorrow, the list is endless.
I think that two of the issues is that thinking is fun, and I find that 'not thinking about anything analytical' is incredibly boring for me, to the point where I can get aggravated. So after a while of thinking about my breathing, and random boring, non-thought provoking crap I give up and BAM all the intense thoughts that I was desperate to thing about come back.
A second issue, which is very linked, is the fact that I read a lot. Reading does make me tired, which, I imagine is plus, but it's even thought provoking. I'm not a fan of novels so I tend to read factual books..
//Doubt this is a million dollar idea, but i love to have one ^_^
The idea is simple, as you are coding, you can switch between languages as you please. All languages able to access variables and methods in any other language you have already used. All you have to do is identify what language the sections of code are.
EG:
<C#>
public list<int> DataSet = new list<int>();
public string GetSortedData(list<int> unsorted_data)
{
//sorts the data
//Converts data to string (as delphi dosent have list<int> class... i think.)
}
</C#>
<Delphi> //sory its the only other language i know atm
The complaint was looking good 'n normal until that last part. There was no need to tell them that they dont know how to do their job. Could have just said that it wasn't a pleasure working with their company, and left it as that...
But yea, telling a customer to F* off is a really bad idea!
