I also can't stand Android preventing me from taking a screenshot. It's on my screen, I have the right to take a screenshot.

I understand the technical limit of taking screenshots of DRM-protected content (e.g. Netflix), but why would my bank app be allowed to stop me from taking screenshots?

Solution: don't use mobile bank apps.

I'm forced to use a bank app in order to authenticate, even if I want to login on the desktop website. I think it's because of an EU regulation for strong authentication.

The implementation causing you issues is from the bank, not from the EU regulation.

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strong_customer_authentication for details

Ask them?

In a way, it's nice because young people will find way to circumvent the limits and they'll learn "hacking", just like we used to do in the very different internet we grew up with.

If you want an experience that's similar to GNOME-when-it-was-good, I'd suggest Cinnamon, the desktop environment of Linux Mint.

What's the state of Cinnamon maintenance? Keeping up with underlying platform changes being the perpetual challenge...

Cinnamon is an independent project, it's not based on GNOME. Or what else are you referring to?

Gtk-3

I agree. GNOME used to be perfect, now it looks and feels like it's been designed by someone who's never used a computer.

I wish Ubuntu would just give up with GNOME and switch to something more sensible.

You can use something else. Kubuntu might be nice for you.

Yes, I've migrated to Kubuntu first and now I'm enjoying Linux Mint. The Cinnamon environment gives me old-school GNOME vibes. And Mint doesn't have Snap, which is also a big plus.

John Ive was the catalyst for the horrible UX that macOS has now.

I agree. MacOS became completely unusable with Liquid Glass, it totally feels like one of those amateur custom themes for Linux.

I hope the new leadership will bring back better software. As of now, macOS 26 is disgusting.

Also, to me, "anyone who can view this page" sounds like "anyone _in this workspace_ that can view this page", not "anyone _on the public web_".

Infomaniak is Swiss, so it makes sense that the municipality decided to go with a local service.

They do that in order to keep their service safe from spammers and cryptominers.

I personally find Hetzner's Console even better than DigitalOcean's one, especially since DigitalOcean now looks like three slightly different consoles depending on which page you're in. It feels like they've been migrating to a new system, but they haven't finished it yet.
