As much I apprecite the sentiment, I think it is too early to declare that the well guareded monopoly is over. Yes, these models have answers, but don't expect all the large enterprises to switch to these models. The other aspect is scaling to serve these models will need a lot of time even if Huawei succeeds. Not all the Governments trust China and there will be a lot of resistance to work with these models eventually, even if cheaper.

Which Monopoly? Are all large enterprises in USA? There are tons of them outside and they will run the open ones and cheapest ones to infer and those are Chinese. I run Chinese models at home and don't bother with cloud. If I could call the shots at work, we will switch 100% to Chinese models so everyone could have "unlimited" tokens.

You might be underestimating how significantly cheaper this is and how much people care about price.

Walmart is a horrible company owned by horrible people and yet it’s cheap so it dominates.

If the quality really is in the Opus 4.6 range (considering how bad 4.7 is), then it’s a pretty big deal.

I was reading news this morning about Lebanese journalist killed in airstrike. I was thinking very likely she was tracked wherever she was taking shelter. These kind of surveillance probably helps track such people on large scale and we most of the time meh at such reports and think what have I to loose. But it is affecting everyone now, not some ambigious high profile targets, they are the people amongst us.

Tracking wasn't necessary in her case, she was already talking to Israeli forces prior to being murdered. They knew where she was by direct personal observation, which was then used to target her.

Coming soon to a city near you.

The goal is dominance and control of the poor by the rich.

InfoWars was about the niche audience buying the narrative that was pushed to them and it took the previous owner probably time to realize that lies can be sold as truth.

What would the new Infowars be ? It should never stop telling on the front page what it was and what it is going to be now.

Whatever it will be I am hoping they have thought well about it since they have been thinking long and also want to bring a positive message.

Good luck

I am posting it because I want to understand how A16Z pushes the views and how it goes agains actual risks Flock brings in and how is it not making it safer for the people.

> There is now more than $500,000 (£371,000) staked on whether Russia will capture Kostyantynivka this year .

Now everyone has a chance to profit from war ! Thank you Polymarket

Are users able to bet specifically on whether prisoners of war in Kostyantynivka will be killed? Or whether women and children will be raped? That kind of fine-grained war market could be groundbreaking

I know you're just being snarky, but FYI, oldtimey rape and pillage requires the civilian population to be present at the time of the assault, and that only happened during the first month or so of this war. since summer 2022, the Russian advance has been so slow that women and children had months to safely evacuate. besides, each settlement is reduced to rubble by artillery and gliding bombs before assaults begin.

First result when I put in "polymarket assassination" reads:

War profiteering for the people!

Lots of publicly traded war profiteering companies. The president even highlighted one a couple of days ago.

You make it sound bad, but I personally am very much in favor of regular people having access to the same bad things that the people in charge have.

You think normal folks should have access to precision guided munitions and chemical weapons?

Look, I don't think people should have access to these at all, but at the same time, I think that the average Joe would be a better custodian of these than Trump and Netanyahu.

My hope is that equal access might make us stop treating these things as if they are ok.

This has clearly worked out well with giving guns to the entire US population…

It definitely hasn't, but my argument would be in favor of making regular police forces be unarmed as well, like in the UK.

we have armed police, just not all police are armed

That's why I said "regular police". My understanding is that generally no one (including the police) is allowed to carry a gun in public unless someone already illegally introduced them into play. That's the world I want to live in.

I do not understand the problem solution, but if anything with git, I would want Codeberg style. I moved to gitlab and they were soldout and I am back on github slowly transitioning out. Common sentiment I believe is we want git, but on our own terms, not another VC funded project to move in.

brilliant suggestions !! To care for what you have is the best approach in my opinion.

COM !! I remember that was the biggest idea that I learned and thought if I can get it right, I will be the best programmer ever. And to learn, I bought my most expensive book by Dale Rogerson if I remember the author's name correctly. But it was a different time and soon everyone was talking about Java. Just nostalgia and I remember my past.

I love Cloudflare but not a big fan of Next, I love Remix though :) But getting to make things work on Cloudflare is a pain, hopefully they will make it easier with OpenNext. On the other hand , maybe they can do something better at infrastrucute level , rather than make it easier, like a lot easier to bring your own JS flavor.

I love brazilian Portugese becuase I love Brazil and it's people and culture. So I listen to a lot of brazilian music and I am always curious about lyrics. I try to sing along, but it's hard sometimes to read it in english and pronouncate, sometimes 't' is 'chi' ... I might be wrong , I am new to the language and I am learning. I have picked up a lot of words in my subconscious and I know what they mean and this is probably a good way learn in my opinion.

In most of Brazil, the "t" or "d" followed by "i" is pronounced as "tch", like in "cheese".
