Where else could they possibly get energy from? Planets can be replaced by orbitals, but there's no way to replace the sun.


Even extreme primitives have magnetic-confinement fusion.


Ah ok. That makes sense. In that world, they can even use miniature black holes once they can stabilise and capture them in a field, to generate energy.
