This is really really cool. Let me add support for my app - GitJournal which I still can't publish it on F-Droid as it integrated with Google Play for billing and uses Firebase Analytics (Sadly not Open Source).

I love that with this I'm in control of when the updates are released unlike the F-Droid model.

Edit: On second thought I'll wait for a week and see if this project continues. I really hope it catches on. @redsolver: Do you plan to continue working on this?

Yes, I will continue to work on SkyDroid. Please let me know if you have any feature requests.

Publishing is really easy, the process is explained here: https://skydroid.dev/

Differences to F-Droid:

- Fully decentralized, an app is bound to a domain name (like in a web browser)

- Every app can be published on SkyDroid, not just open-source apps

- The developer can directly publish his APK with his own signing key

- New apps and updates can be published almost instantly

- Faster syncing
