I clicked through without knowing this article was about one of my favorite subjects- the elucidation of the structure of DNA. I'm glad to see this article, because there are too many people out there who think Franklin was somehow wronged and was supposed to get some publication credit or a Nobel Prize. She got an acknowledgement in W&C 1953, and is the author of the next paper (which is also about the structure of DNA). Nobody stole her results, she had presented them at a seminar. Etc. etc.
I get in arguments about this with people who are trained in science and they absolutely refuse to even look at the evidence- they're just convinced she's been cheated, and don't want to see any of the historical record demonstrating the real situation,.
I also appreciate that the author of this article included at least one woman scientist who truly was wronged. The other interesting case is Barbara Mcclintock, who published amazing work about chromosomes that was ignored for decades. At least in that case, the next person to rediscover jumping genes did a thorough literature search and popularized her work, leading to a late but worthy Nobel (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_McClintock)
